Reinstalled terminus 4.46 to check, but it doesn't show up either, so there is yet another variable in this puzzle. In the first menu (fndry) I could select xos4 and then terminus in the next, but it disappeared.

I know in 4.38 they didn't install the file for it to be selected, and they did in 4.40 but I don't know about 4.39*Įdit to add: I don't use xfontsel, so I'm not sure how it works. Is there an entry for terminus in "eselect fontconfig list" It's actually worse, somewhere along the way terminus dropped out of xfontsel, can't see it there anymore. So, part of the problem is it doesn't like facename, because if I'm reading it right, terminus isn't a freetype font, it's an old fashioned bit-mapped font.
